Eirdalenism
Eirdalenism is based on several events that happened centuries ago, while no one has
proven that any of these events have happened, those who believe in Eirdalenism are completely
certain that these events did indeed take place. Followerss of the Eirdalen religion do not believe
Valshare exists. Viastius is the only god.
Hundreds of years before any city now standing was built, there were two villages. One village,
called Llidery, represented all that is good in the world, and the other, Syrinomia, all that is evil. For nearly
three decades, the villages warred, neither side gaining any advantage over the other.
In the 27th year of the war,
Daeria, daughter of the King of Syrinomia, Ghandis, met and fell in love with Ulyris, the prince
of Llidery. The two had a child, named Nyerion, that was born in three weeks, and full grown a
month after that.
Both kings loved Nyerion very much, and believed that his rapid growth was a sign from
Viastius.
In a meeting between the two kings, with Daeria and Ulyris present, Nyerion scolded both
kings for being so stubborn and arrogant. He told them that the reason both of their villages
were dying was not because of the other, but because of them.
He said, "If there can be no peace in a time of joy, then perhaps there can be peace in a time of mourning!"
With that, Nyerion pulled dagger from his belt and pierced himself in the heart.
For three weeks after, no battles were fought between the two villages.
It came to be accepted by both villages that Nyerion was the son of Viastius.
The two villages were certain that Nyerion was sent by Viastius to end the war, and therefore refused
to continue fighting.
These events were recorded a few weeks later on paper by a monk known only as Worlen.
The papers in which these events were recorded on have come to be known as
"The holy scrolls".
During this time, these people had no name for their religion, they worshipped Viastius,
but had never declared themselves Eirdalen. These people believe that Viastius was the
only god in the sky. With the death of Nyerion, most believed the Nyerion was Viastius's child,
but not all of them did. This is the reason for the two subgroups of Eirdalenism.
The first group, those who do believe that Nyerion is the son, call themselves Deirfanic, after their first priest
Cael Deirfane.
The second group, those who believe that Viastius has no son, call themselves Hyrasic, after their first priest,
Ferdinand Hyras.
